Dano Girder AL Bridges

A much needed upgrade replacement for vintage guitars with bowed and collapsing original bridges. Handmade in San Luis Obispo, CA from 7075 aluminum plate, this upgrade guitar bridge is 3/16" thick to stay true for the long haul. There are three E to E string spacing options to choose from including 51mm (2”), 52.4mm (2 1/16”), and 54mm (2 1/8”).

7075 aluminum is the toughest commonly available aluminum alloy. It has a higher yield strength (how much force it takes to permanently deform the material) than 304 stainless steel! However, it is a little less stiff than stainless steel, which allows it to vibrate more readily than stainless. That lower stiffness is a big plus for players looking for improved attack (touch sensitivity), resonance (acoustic volume), and sustain.

Another key improvement available from this upgrade bridge is a new style of interface between the two forward screws and the bridge plate. Slusser Guitars Dano Bridges feature button head screws with matching ball-style sockets on the underside of the bridge plate. This offers a consistent interface that is less dependent on having the bridge perfectly flat longitudinally (the axis the strings follow). This design better transfers string vibration to the body for improved sustain and amplification of the unique and sought after tone that Danelectro masonite hollow and semi-hollow bodies offer.

For reference, original bridges use a countersunk flat headed screw that interfaces with a matching squared off edge countersunk hole. The problem with this vintage design is that if the bridge isn't set up perfectly flat (or is warped), there's very little contact between the screws and bridge plate. This greatly limits the ability of the bridge to transfer string vibration to the body through the support screws.

Bridge plate includes all required mounting hardware:

2 - #8 button head stainless forward mounting screws

1 - #10 oval head stainless rear mounting screw

1 - slotted truss head 5/16" saddle mounting screw to allow reuse of original rosewood saddles

Made in America from American-sourced 7075 aluminum
