Dano Girder Bridges
A much needed upgrade replacement for vintage guitars with bowed and collapsing original bridges. Handmade in San Luis Obispo, CA from 304 stainless steel plate, this upgrade bridge is 3/16" thick to stay true for the long haul. For reference, the original bridges were made from cast zinc and are 1/8" thick. There are many options to choose from including 6-string guitar and 6-string baritone guitar models. The guitar version is available with either 51mm or 57mm E to E string spacing.
Another key improvement offered with this upgrade bridge is a new style of interface between the two forward screws and the bridge plate. The Slusser Guitars Dano Bridge features button head screws with matching ball-style sockets on the underside of the bridge plate. This offers a consistent interface that is less dependent on having the bridge perfectly flat longitudinally (the axis the strings follow). This design better transfers string vibration to the body for improved sustain and amplification of the unique and sought after tone that Danelectro masonite hollow and semi-hollow bodies offer.
For reference, original bridges use a countersunk flat headed screw that interfaces with a matching squared off edge countersunk hole. The problem with this vintage design is that if the bridge isn't set up perfectly flat (or is warped), there's very little contact between the screw and bridge plate. This massively limits the ability of the bridge to transfer vibration to the body through the support screws.
Bridge plate includes all required mounting hardware:
2 - button head stainless forward mounting screws
1 - oval head stainless rear mounting screw
1 - slotted truss head 5/16" saddle mounting screw to allow reuse of original rosewood saddles
Made in America from American-sourced 304 stainless steel
